This battle between good and evil is to control the hearts of yourself. Once control over the heart is established, the mind automatically surrenders to the heart. The heart feeds the mind with desires, temptations and ideas and the mind controls the rest of the body, which are ample to perform or commit the act, in order to bring the good or the evil act in to existence. This is why the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) advised us that if the heart is fine, then the whole body is fine and if the heart is faulty, then so is all.
Verses related to death. In some verses, the Almighty Allah has compared death to ‘Tawafi’ (taking up). For example:

This shows that to protect the private parts from sin, one must lower the gaze when he roams the streets and should marry, if he is able. nafs. Fasting is an emphasised remedy to kill the desires.

وَهُوَ الَّذِى يَتَوَفَّكُم بِالَّيْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا جَرَحْتُم بِالنَّهَارِ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُكُمْ فِيهِ لِيُقْضَى أجَلٌ مُسَمّىً ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ * وَهُوَ الْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهِ وَيُرْسِلُ عَلَيْكُمْ حَفَظَةً حَتَّى إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ تَوَفَّتْهُ رُسُلُنَا وَهُمْ لَايُفَرِّطُونَAnd He it is Who takes your souls at night (in sleep), and He knows what you acquire in the day, then He raises you up therein that an appointed term may be fulfilled; then to Him is your return, then He will inform you of what you were doing. And He is the Supreme, above His servants, and He sends keepers over you; until when death comes to one of you, Our messengers cause him to die, and they are not remiss. (6:60-61)
